Honeymooners in the New Year from Germany

Posted by Greg Whyte on 21 January 2016

The New Year in 2016 has brought honeymooners from Nuremberg Germany to spend a week in Waihi Beach on their honeymoon down under.

January is not normally the time for Kiwi or Australian honeymoons but you need to bear in mind everything is upside down and from the other side of the world where winter is alive and well summer down under looks really attractive with sun and warm weather being huge drawcards along with New Zealand's natural beauty

Relaxing on Waihi Beach has been a big attraction as has collecting shells from Shelly Bay just around the bay from Bowentown heads.

Hobbiton also featured for these Lords of the Rings and Hobbit fans - very impressed with the Hobbiton Tour so took lots of pics.

The Karangahake gorge was also a focus as was the Martha Mine in Waihi and the Art Market.

Fishing is on the agenda tomorrow with Fat Boy Charters out of Tauranga so fingers are crossed they come home with fresh fish for dinner.

Foot note -they had a great day  fishing - plenty of sun, plenty of fish in the fish bin with snapper and terrakihi  fillets to bring home plus up close with dolpins and sharks - what an experience.
