About a month ago we had the pleasure to meet a young couple from Munich - in Waihi Beach at the end of their 4 weeks or so in New Zealand.
They were married mid year 2018 and saved their honeymoon for the New Zealand summer - the weather was brilliantly fine and hot all though January so their time here was spent on the beach relaxing and building on their tans before the big flight home.
We had discussed going up the Coromandel Peninsula or a day in the Karangahake Gorge but they just wanted to stop and relax They had been living out of a suitcase for 4 weeks and they needed to just stop and catch their breath.
I suggested to them to venture over to Orakawa Bay - they were up for it they said - a bush and coastal walk to get to a little piece of paradise. On their return they said we are going back tomorrow - so nice!
When asked about what they thought of New Zealand they went stary eyed - “much better than we were told and read about - you just have to come and see it for yourself and you will be blown away with what you see”
“You have it all in one country and it is so beautiful and contrasting.”
