Honey not too far away

Posted by Greg Whyte on 23 October 2015

Our bees have been on the job doing their thing according to bee keeper Rick. They are already storing honey and the first signs are very promising.

Rick was hoping for this result but was unsure of the area and with new bees it was a calculated punt and it looks like paying off.

There was enough honey stored already for both Rick and I to have a wee try - simply delicious - a taste of rata was what Rick indicated. With pohutakawa trees close by and avocado trees not too far away who knows what taste we will end up with??

Based on progress to date and with the help of some fine weather our guests could be eating local honey on their toast and in their muesli by early December ( lets hope the weather plays it's part)
