Ali Lawn & Greg Whyte have created the beachy ambience that is Waihi Beach Lodge.
Both come from sales and marketing backgrounds – Ali from books, map publishing and retail and Greg through grocery, stationery, office and imprinted products.
Ali is an avid reader, addicted to crosswords and has interests in arts & crafts, travel, wine, and sport. She also practices massage and is on hand to knead those travel aches and pains away.
In the community Ali was a Community Board member for the Western Bay of Plenty District Council for 3 years, is a member of the Civil Defence welfare team and has been the volunteer treasurer for the Waihi Beach Community Centre and was also on the OP Shop Ball committee for many years

Waihi Beach lodge was a Finalist in the Hotel Club Awards.
Greg loves sport and is a keen fisherman. He has been involved with playing/coaching and managing rugby/cricket teams for over 30 years and now is a keen spectator and armchair critic. He enjoys a good pinot noir and the latest gourmet cookbook as well as torpedo fishing off the beach with guests and friends.
In the community Greg administered the www.waihibeachinfo.co.nz website for approx 7 years which he and Ali were the instigators to set up. He was chairman of Waihi Beach Community Events and Promotions Society Incorporated for approx 7 years and was a member of the Waihi Beach Op Shop Ball committee for several years and was on the Waihi Beach Fresh Produce Market committee. Greg is a founding member of the Southern Coromandel Tourism Network and was invited to join the Bay of Plenty Tourism advisory board that existed for a few years.Greg also oversaw the upgrade of the Waihi Beach Community Centre website.
